Saniya has been writing fiction in Marathi for nearly forty years. She has so far published 14 short story collections, 3 novels and 2 non fictions including a travelogue. She has many prestigious literary awards to her credit. Her work has been translated into English, Hindi, Kannada and other Indian languages. Her writings portray the inherent complexities of life, intricate human relationships and the challenges of the present times. The focus of her writing is an awakened and introspective woman who is sensitive to her surroundings as also to her inner voice. Widely traveled and now settled in Bangalore, she works as a volunteer counselor.
