Late Dhananjay Keer was born on 23rd April 1913 at Ratnagiri. He worked for Mumbai Mahapalika in the Department of Education. During the course of his career, he wrote biographies on many eminent freedom fighters for the paper ‘Free Hindustan’. His writings soon became popular in both India as well as Abroad. Considering his prolific write-ups on freedom fighters that showcased he was bestowed with Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. He was also rewarded the Vidyarthi award by Nava Nalanda Mahavira foundation in February 1977 for his acclaimed contribution to the field.
