Soniya Khare
Soniya Khare joined Oxford University Press as an editor in 1994 and handled diverse projects like children's reference series, bilingual dictionaries, medical and other academic titles, and anthologies. The most challenging project she worked on was the Oxford Encyclopedia of Music in India—this ran into three volumes, 5000 entries and 1500 pages, and took 11 years to complete. She now runs her own firm, Akshar Consultants. Over the past 19 years, she has worked as copyeditor, translator, and content writer. The list of publications she has worked on includes medical journals, and books on history, philosophy, religion, science and literature.
Soniya has written the text for IPW's first English publication, PS Ramani – A Legend, as well has edited 'Trailing the Tiger' and 'High-Tech Lifeline's
Anand Limaye
Anand Limaye at present successfully runs 'India Printing Works', a Press established by his father late Dadasaheb Limaye and which entered its 82nd year in March this year (2013). Anand is an active social worker, who has devotedly worked for the industry and resolved many issues. His two terms as the President of Mumbai Mudrak Sangh and three terms as the President of Maharashtra Mudran Parishad reflect the industry's confidence in him.
He has also served the Industry at the National level Federation as the First Hon. Treasurer from Mumbai in the last fifty years, and then as Vice President of the Western Region in the Golden Jubilee Year of the Federation. He has been one of the active members of MMS, instrumental in the success of the Federation's National Awards for Excellence in Printing (2005) and hosting the International Exhibition of Printing Machinery PAMEX 2006.
Some of his notable contributions to the industry:
Pioneered the concept of 'MMS at your doorstep', a program held at various locations to tackle the problems of local printers.
Engineered partnerships with software companies to provide software at reasonable rates to all printers, thereby promoting the 'Be legal, be safe' campaign.
Promoted awareness amongst printers in many remote places of Maharashtra through 'Print Yatra'.
He is currently Hon. Editor, Print Bulletin, a monthly magazine of MMS covering vital information and unique one-on-one interviews with industry stalwarts. He is also Hon. Chairman of 'MMP's Institute of Printing Technology and Research' at Panvel, Navi Mumbai. This is perhaps the only industry-run Printing Institute in India conducting government-approved diploma courses as well as a Degree i.e. BE in Printing Technology, under the auspices of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, A Deemed University.
His vision is to convert this institute into a full-fledged training centre covering diploma, degree and management courses in printing.
With PS Ramani – A Legend, Anand has entered the world of publishing and would like to build a list of unique publications, both in English and Marathi.
